The Wayfarer space

Welcome to The Wayfarer, Tasmania.

A tranquil haven where the sea shall cast a spell over you and hold you in its net...

About The Wayfarer

A traditional 1970s original Tasmanian beach shack.

Simple touches and family treasures make it the perfect escape from modern life - an opportunity to slow down embrace the sounds of the ocean and surrounding bush.

With large windows framing expansive sunlit views, the stylish interior invites you to unwind and leave the busy world behind.

Curl up on the generous sofa with a blanket and a book, lounge by the Nectre wood fire with music and a board game, or sip Tassie wine, whisky, or gin in the rocking chair as the sunset glows across the bay.

The Wayfarer is ideal for couples, families, a getaway with girlfriends or solo travellers. It offers 2 bedrooms, a new bathroom, a cosy sun-drenched sitting room, a fully equipped kitchen and a wrap-around deck with a Weber barbecue - all designed for comfort and relaxation.

If you are lucky, you might spot a migrating whale, dolphins, a passing yacht, or even a hang glider…

  • Whilst Tasmania is know for its colder climate, people (including our guests) are attracted to Tasmania all year around.

Winter at the The Wayfarer means snuggling up in front of the Nectre fireplace and watching the weather roll in. Summer is a highlight to explore the many bush walks (include the renowned 3 Capes) and sit on the expansive deck and catch a Wayfarer sunrise

    Temperature average range from:

    Summer (Dec-Feb): 16.9-18.9°C maximum and 9.6-11.2°C minimum.

  • Getting to Eaglehawk Neck requires some planning, as it is beautifully secluded and surrounded by Tasmania's wild nature. Here’s what you need to know:

Air Travel: Hobart Airport is the easiest accessible to The Wayfarer. It is approximately a 1-hour drive once landing in Hobart. Sea Travel: If you're embarking from Melbourne, consider the Spirit of Tasmania. This ferry docks in Devonport, from where Eaglehawk Neck is closer to a 3.5-hour drive. Car Travel: Since Eaglehawk Neck is on the Tasman Peninsula and a little remote, having a car is essential. This gives you the flexibility to explore the area at your own pace and ensures you can reach your accommodation comfortably. It is also a good option for travelling the East Coast of Tasmania.

Mobile Connectivity: Be prepared for limited mobile coverage, with Telstra being the main service provider. We recommend printing your travel and accommodation instructions beforehand to avoid any inconvenience upon arrival.

Check out Contact section for further details.
